I really liked the extensive conversation practice in class.

Kailin from Spring 2014

Which events or activities did you find the most satisfying and why?

School Sports Day, because I like sports.

What were the most productive and interesting aspects of the program for you? The least interesting and productive?

I really liked the extensive conversation practice in class. I wish there would have been more emphasis on learning vocabulary, especially in Level 3.

What activities or materials did you find most helpful (e.g., pair work, drill practice, tests, small group sessions, textbooks, games)?

Conversation practice (between teach & student, and pair work) and the textbooks.

Were you pleased with the general living arrangements? Anything you especially liked? Any problems you experienced?

I liked that I had a private bathroom in my roommate. Sometimes in American dorms they are not private. My air conditioner broke while I was living the in the dorm, but the dorm manager was very nice and called the repairman immediately, and it was fixed the next day!

Any further thoughts or tips for those considering the program or new KCP students?

Any time I had a problem or question, there was always someone at KCP who made time for me and helped me. I only got to study at KCP for 9 months, but it was easily a better experience than my 3 years of college. Thank you so much!

Testimonials

KCP is a really great program and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about studying Japanese in Tokyo. Although intense the sense of achievement by the end of just two and a half months is huge.
